John E. Schneider
President

As founder of Air Tox Environmental Company, Mr. Schneider has over 29 years of experience in the air quality engineering and consulting field. As Principal of Air Tox, John is responsible for the implementation, staffing and support of all air quality projects at Air Tox, as well as coordination with local, State and federal regulatory agencies.

John’s expertise covers the range of services provided by Air Tox including permitting, source emissions measurement and continuous emissions monitoring. When consulting a customer, John draws from his years of experience in each of the different services provided by Air Tox.

Prior to becoming a consultant, John’s industrial experience was as a Chemist and Environmental Engineer in the automotive manufacturing industry. This experience in the industrial sector has proven to be a valuable asset to John in his understanding of the challenges faced by today’s environmental engineers and managers.

Mr. Schneider has a B.S. in Chemistry from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.


Chris Dierkens CEM System and Emissions Monitoring Professional

Chris Dierkens

VP, Engineering Services

As VP of Engineering Services and Senior Engineer at Air Tox, Chris Dierkens brings not only his 20 years of expertise in the Environmental and Power Generation fields, but also his diverse background and wealth of experience. Chris’s primary focus at Air Tox is the management and support of our customer’s Data Acquisition Systems for their CEM systems.

Prior to joining Air Tox, Chris spent many years with Environmental Systems Corporation (ESC). While at ESC, his responsibilities included Project Management, Engineering Services, and Sales Services & Support.

Additionally, he held similar responsibilities with TriTech Environmental Consulting, at Odessa Engineering, and in Environmental and Operations Departments at Waste-to-Energy and Nuclear Power Plants.

Mr. Dierkens has a BS in Environmental Engineering from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.

Brian Horan

VP, Director of CEMS Service & Support

Mr. Horan assists in managing and supporting field service engineers in all aspects of CEMS and client relations. This includes installation/startup, Preventive Maintenance contracts, emergency service, customer training, and CGA/Linearity/RATA support.  Mr. Horan also participates as a CEMS field engineer for various projects. He has managed and performed numerous CEMS upgrades of equipment from probes to analyzers.

Mr. Horan is a mechanical engineer with over 27 years experience in a broad range of continuous emission monitoring systems. He began his career as a CEMS field engineer installing numerous CEMS nationwide at utility and trash to energy plants. His expertise includes extractive CEMS, dilution CEMS, flow monitors, opacity monitors, mercury systems, EPA/State regulations and data acquisition systems. He has managed and performed preventive maintenance projects at various types of facilities and is particularly experienced in application troubleshooting.

Brian Horan has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Central New England College in Worcester, Massachusetts.


Eric Dithrich, CEM System and Emissions Monitoring Professional

VP, Source Emissions Monitoring Group

Eric Dithrich has been a member of the Air Tox team since 1998 and brings 20+ years of experience in the air quality engineering and consulting field.  As Vice President of the Source Emissions Monitoring Group, Mr. Dithrich is responsible for the day to day business operations.  Additionally, Eric is responsible for the implementation, staffing and support of all source emissions measurement projects at Air Tox.  Eric’s experience covers a wide range of services, including method development, air emissions quantification, continuous emissions monitoring, and permitting for many different types of facilities both domestic and overseas.  This experience has proven beneficial in providing Eric with a broad understanding of the complex and fluid regulatory issues challenging facilities.

Mr. Dithrich has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont and currently holds a patent for a biofuel emissions control device.  In addition to his professional pursuits, Eric is active in his church (High Pointe in Thompson, Connecticut) by volunteering for short term mission trips and Kids of the Kingdom summer camp.  Eric is married and has two children.
